UNSPAM is a community event, and as such, we expect all present to treat each other with dignity, respect, tolerance, and dare we say kindness? Let’s be quick to listen and slow to judge. Let’s make room for differences of opinion, challenges to stereotypes, and questionable tastes in music. Let’s set the tone for irreverent discourse without resorting to insults or attacks. And, let’s do our best to stay healthy: mask up, folks!
In addition:
UNSPAM prohibits and will not tolerate discrimination and/or harassment (sexual or otherwise) for any reason, including based on any characteristic protected under state or federal law.
Protected characteristics include, but are not limited to, race, color, religion (including religious dress and grooming), sex or gender, national origin, ancestry, mental or physical disability, medical condition, pregnancy, military or veteran status, genetic information, citizenship status, marital status, sexual orientation and gender identity and/or gender expression.
We expect that anyone attending our events will avoid making inappropriate or offensive comments (slurs, epithets, etc.) or engaging in inappropriate or offensive conduct that targets another person.
If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have other safety concerns, please contact a member of the event staff at the registration desk or wherever else you spot them. (We’ll be the ones in the red event shirts.) If you cannot immediately find any event staff, please find a member of the venue staff and ask them to get in touch with us quickly.
All Conference participants, including speakers, sponsors and staff are subject to this Code of Conduct. Anyone found violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the conference without a refund at the discretion of the conference organizers and we’ll also probably toilet paper their houses.
